Masakazu Kurihara's Statement:
The four seasons in Japan are my pursuing theme in paintings with watercolors. Through my past experiences staying abroad, I was made to realize afresh that the fertile landscapes and the diverse four seasons in Japan are really worth admiring. In addition,"Owara-Kazenobon", one of the Japanese traditional local festivals is also my favorite motif which I've been pursuing for several years. Watercolors seems to be suitable most to catch the taste of such motifs. I am resident in the Yatsugatake mountain foot area, 130km west from Tokyo, mainly drawing nearby scenery nowadays.
